Think you may be a victim of identity theft?

    Act fast.

    1. Call the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hotline to report a complaint.

    2. Contact one the three federal reporting bureaus fraud departments.

Take your pick: Experian, Equifax or TransUnion.

    3. Close your accounts (even if they haven’t been tampered with yet).

    4. File a police report with your local law enforcement authorities.

    5. You may need to call the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This depends on if you think your information was used improperly by someone else for filing purposes.

    Keep your eyes open.
